Negative Nominal Interest Rates: Highway to a Cashless, Statist Hell

I warned about this in part two of my 2.5 hour Economics Video Presentation back in November of ARSH 2012, and, sure enough, it has now happened. 

Mario Draghi, chief psychopath of the European Central Bank went full-stupid on June 5th and announced mandated NEGATIVE INTEREST RATES on the excess reserves of European banks held and the European Central Bank  (which is the equivalent of the Federal Reserve Bank in the U.S.).  What does this mean?  Click here to learn more...

As you can see in the article linked above and countless others, the publicly stated rationale behind this negative interest rate paradigm is “stimulus”.  If the banks have to pay to store cash, they will instead lend their excess cash out to customers rather than have a percentage  confiscated every month.  This is utter bee-ess on multiple levels.  These top-tier central bankers know that negative interest rates have NOTHING to do with stimulus, and will, in fact, lead to exactly the opposite.  In fact, they know that the inevitable outcome of negative interest rates is the complete nationalization of the banking sector and total governmental control of all capital flows – which means today a CASHLESS ECONOMY.  Yup.  If you’re interested, I’ll walk you through the chain of events and differentiate between the propaganda that will be used to justify this evil and the reality of how the world actually works.

Okay.  That’s easy to understand, right? Well, the propaganda coming from the Banksters and willingly regurgitated by the useful idiot class is that negative interest rates will absolutely, positively result in increased lending by banks and thus “economic stimulus”.  And bear in mind, they have been bleating EXACTLY the same line of crap in regards to “quantitative easing”.  They have been saying for YEARS that all of the money printing done by the Federal Reserve and European Central Bank would provide “stimulus” in the form of increased lending.  And, as we all know, that didn’t happen.  All that has happened is that the Banksters have taken the “new money” printed by the Central Banks and pumped it into the stock and derivatives markets, thus blowing a massive, unprecedented bubble.  But Joe Schmoe still can’t get a loan to open a business.  The evil, malignant Banksters KNOW that the whole stimulus meme is a lie.  The useful idiots are so indescribably stupid that they can’t comprehend simple logical progressions even when they have a current experiential dataset right in front of their faces that clearly demonstrates the fallacy: not only does QE and other forms of synthetic “liquidity boosting” NOT stimulate the economy, it actually depresses it even more.

Tomato Soup
      1.  Sautee a mess of onions until caramelized.  Season with salt and white pepper.  Add a mess of chopped, seeded, and (ideally) skinned, tomatoes.  Let it simmer for a spell.  Add enough beef or chicken stock such that the ‘maters can have a nice swim.  Let it simmer for another spell.  Whiz it until smooth in batches in a blender.  Careful.  It’s hot.  Add the whizzed-up slurry back to the pot and dump in a bunch of heavy whipping cream.  Add a fistful of chopped fresh basil.  Heat it back up, season to taste with salt and white pepper, serve with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
      Cooking without a precise recipe, as with the tomato soup above, builds character, self-reliance and the ability to think and act on one’s feet.  To paraphrase the old saying: Instructions will not be provided.  Neither will permission.
If you can’t make a darn tasty pot of soup out of tomatoes, onions and cream without dependence on a disembodied voice telling you what to do and how to do it down to the minutest detail, then you better check yourself.
Be a man.  Quit’cher whining.  Figure s*** out.  Get s*** done.

We Know Best

Hillary Clinton might as well be Barack Obama in drag and whiteface. They have the same background, same beliefs, and same policies. A vote for Hillary will be a vote for four more years of Barack. Both capitalize on identity politics. They’ve spent most of their working lives in government and have a dripping disdain for the private sector. (Obama: “You didn’t build that!”; Hillary: “I can’t be responsible for every under-capitalized small business in America!” when informed Hillarycare could bankrupt many such businesses.) They champion a government take over of health care. With all their hearts they believe in government: more regulation, taxes, and redistribution to Democratic voters and donors. Their faith has been richly rewarded, in a monetary if not a spiritual sense.

The similarities go deeper. Despite their busy schedules, they find time to write self-justificatory, idea-lite books that many buy and most never read. They see their personas and policies in grandiose terms (“the politics of meaning”; “hope and change”), but on the ground, or what most people call “real life,” they demonstrate deficiencies: surrounding themselves with sycophants, bristling at dissent or criticism, and making remarkably maladroit statements (“... they cling to guns or religion...”;  “We came out of the White House not only dead broke but in debt.”). Fortunately for them, they are shielded by a fawning press that shares their politics, downplays their mistakes, and does not investigate their scandals.

As helpful as the press has been, Hill and The One’s ultimate shield is the 47 percent (give or take a percentage point or two). There is no surer way to doom a presidential campaign than to tell the truth, but Mitt Romney’s infamous remark got it right. Close to a majority of Americans receive sustenance from the government; Democrats are the party of government; people don’t vote against their meal ticket. The Democratic posture is cloyingly condescending, but transparent: we know best and you can’t make it without us. The more recipients believe that, the more inclined they are to vote Democratic. The Republicans adopt a Democrat-lite policy—if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em—never killing government programs (talk of rescinding Obamacare has already died down), settling for “reforming” them by spending a percentage point or two less than the Democrats. Those dependent upon the government prefer to sell their votes to genuine, not “me-too” Democrats.

The Republicans carry their own “we know best” baggage. Vietnam offered a number of lessons for politicians. If you need to lie to the country to gain its support for a war, you’ll eventually lose that support. Keep a tight rein on the intelligence agencies and don’t accept what they say as gospel. If the government you are allied with is corrupt and repressive, it will lose the support of its own people. Invading a country is relatively easy, compared to the political reconstruction, insurgencies, and guerrilla warfare that follow. Foreign war is a dangerous, time-consuming, expensive, and often dirty business, and the American people do not automatically rally around the flag or stay rallied. When we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, those hard won lessons were ignored; wishful thinking and we-know-best prevailed.

Americans have not rallied around never ending occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq—turning them into garrison states—to secure our tenuous victories, achieved at a cost of trillions of dollars and thousands of lives. Nor have they rallied around our involvement in the rebellion against Bashar al-Assad in Syria, notwithstanding red lines, alleged chemical warfare, and the embarrassment of Putin pulling Obama from the hole he had dug for himself. The dream of a peaceful, democratic Middle East imposed by the US is dead. The most ardent proponents of intervention in Iraq limit their proposals to advisors, bombing, and intelligence, recognizing that as the outer limit of what the American people might support. (Proponents do themselves no favor letting I-know-best Dick Cheney argue their case.)

The war on terrorism’s national security apparatus obliterates personal privacy and constitutes a clear and present danger to our civil liberties. The “trust us” defense offered since Snowden’s revelations has been undermined by the programs’ breathtaking scope and intrusiveness, the failure to demonstrate any terrorist attacks thwarted, past abuses, and the obvious threat of future abuses.

The we-know-best cohort is now trying to convince us that people who have immigrated to this country, violating its laws, should be allowed “a path to citizenship.” It’s a matter of “love,” according to we-know-best Jeb, of the we-know-best Bushes. Open borders are incompatible with welfare states, as the current flood of immigrants from Central America demonstrates. They don’t all dream the same by-the-bootstraps American dream as Emma Lazarus’s “tired,” “poor,” “huddled masses”—many of them are looking for a handout. No secret why the Democrats favor immigration “reform”; Obama might as well be standing at the border handing out checks and Democratic voter registration cards as the 47 percent become the 48, 49, 50, and so on percent.

The Republican leadership, afraid to challenge the welfare state, is trying to bludgeon its members into party immolation. That leadership is now minus pro-reform Eric Cantor. Virginia Republicans didn’t buy the argument that a path to citizenship in exchange for phony promises of better border control would somehow, someday turn the Democrats’ second most reliable voting block into Republican stalwarts.

Nixing Middle East occupation and Syrian involvement, continuing uproars over the surveillance state and Obamacare, Cantor’s defeat...dare we hope that some significant portion of the American populace reject “we know best” and are ready to regain control of their own lives? If all we get in 2016 is a non-choice between a Bush and a Clinton, the answer is no. However, “we know best” will inevitably collapse under the weight of its own hubris.

Org. Setting and Reporting

These positions are located in field missions of Peace Operations. The DDR Officer typically reports to the head of a work unit or to a senior official responsible for DDR operations in a field location, though this may vary depending on the mission structure. The focus of these jobs is to lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of DDR programmes, operations and other related activities in the country or region concerned.

Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, the Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

(a) Act as a Focal Point for DDR components for 2-3 missions, responsible for planning, support to implementation and evaluation

• Participate in DPKO and Integrated Task Force planning meetings for the establishment of a new peacekeeping mission with a potential DDR component;

• Provide technical assistance to peace negotiations;

• Participate in technical assessment missions;

• Advise, develop and review (as appropriate) initial DDR functional strategy and concept of operations for further development into a full programme by the DDR component and the National DDR Commission;

• Develop and review the DDR input to the reports of the Secretary-General to the Security Council;

• Develop initial result-based framework and budget for new DDR components in new mission;

• Liaise with UNDP and donor community to raise voluntary contributions for DDR programmes;

• Present and/or defend new and subsequent DDR budgetary requirements in the ACABQ and the 5th Committee of the General Assembly;

• Develop staffing structure and terms of reference for a DDR component, including terms of integration with other UN agencies, funds and programmes;

• Provide technical clearance for applicants to DDR units in new and ongoing missions;

• Provide Headquarters support in planning the civilian and military logistics support for DDR;

• Continually review DDR programme strategy and implementation through relevant documents, reports and code cables;

• Conduct field missions to assess implementation of established DDR programmes;

• Identify potential problems and issues to be addressed and suggest remedies to DDR units in the field;

• Liaise with Member States, UN actors and other DDR interested partners to represent the mission’s DDR component at the Headquarters level;

• Establish and maintain an outreach network with CSOs and IGOs active in the area of DDR.

(b) Support the doctrine development work in the area of DDR in the department, with the Interagency working group on DDR and other relevant national and international actors working on DDR issues

• Contribute to department-level or Policy Committee-level policy development work on DDR and related issues;

• Maintain and further develop the Integrated DDR Standards – a set of interagency policies, guidelines and procedures on DDR;

• On behalf of the Chief of the DDR Section, co-chair the lnter-Agency Working Group (IAWG) on DDR, contribute to bringing coherence to the interaction of the UN system and its partners on DDR;

• Supervise the Associate Expert (Junior Professional Officer) in the development and maintenance of the web-based United Nations DDR Resource Centre;

• Liaise with others (UN, regional organisations and Member States) providing DDR training.

Competencies

Work Experience

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration or related area. Experience working within peacekeeping, peace-building or development programmes operations is desirable. Experience with small arms control, conflict/post-conflict crisis management, economic recovery is desirable. Experience coordinating multiple partner agencies, funds or programmes is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.

Assessment Method

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

1) What is the IIIPSFA?

The III Percent Patriots Society for America is a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt educational organization established in 2014 to restore rightful liberty in America. “Rightful liberty” means, in Thomas Jefferson’s words:

[U]nobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’ because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

We like that idea, and we think a lot of other men, women, and children will like it, too.

2) OK – now really – who are you guys?

Oh – you want the real story? OK, but remember – this is code word stuff, subject to all of the provisions of the official Secret Squirrel oath and code of conduct:

3) Are you a militia?

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: No, but we in the Society are supportive of militias, other consensual freedom-minded groups, and individuals who believe in fundamental human rights and are willing to work to re-establish those freedoms in America

4) What is the mission of your organization?

We’ll spare you a repeat of the Secret Squirrel routine, but really – we say what we mean, and we mean what we say. The III Percent Patriots Society for America was established to work for and achieve the restoration of rightful liberty in America. Nothing more – and nothing less.

5) What does that really mean?

First off, it means we have a heck of a lot of work to do.

How many people in modern-day America know what Silverglate is saying, let alone understand it?

Now add in all of the Snowden disclosures of domestic data interception and intelligence analysis by Federal agencies.

Fast and Furious? Benghazi? IRS emails?

Still more work.

To re-establish rightful liberty in America, the Society has to

a) awaken people to the tyrannical threats faced by all Americans,

b) provide them with the information they will need to change that situation, and finally,

c) support them as they do just that.

In other words, a LOT of work.

6) How do you propose to do that?

You start with a core group of people who aren’t afraid of hard work and who understand the situation. Then you look for gaps and fill them. Wash, rinse, repeat. You’d be really surprised what happens once people realize that their consent is all that holds the entire Potemkin village together. Withdraw that consent, weather the ensuing storm, and build for the first time in living memory a society based on individual freedom and opportunity.

7) Won’t that mean anarchy and destruction of society?

Ask yourself these questions:

Did I not rob a single other human being today because of the police?

Or did I not do it because I am not a person who robs people?

America is in the position it is today because generation after generation has been taught that the police and other government agencies are the only thing holding back chaos. Such a belief is just not true. Individuals who refuse to be predators are the core of society, and frankly, government is simply not the answer to all (or even most) problems in life.

8) When did you begin your organization?

Although it has been in the works for some time, we launched the Society on June 15, 2014.

9) What have you done so far?

So far, we’ve

· established our presence on the web,

· opened the membership roles, and

· begun the process of outfitting one of our first projects, which is designed to respond to situations like the Bundy Ranch and make sure that the truth gets out, regardless of what the government and their media accomplices do or not do.

10) Can anyone join IIIPSFA?

Anyone who wants to help restore rightful liberty in America is free to do so, regardless of their race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, or any other of the false divisions used by the global oligarchs to hold onto their power and keep the masses fighting among themselves.

11) How do you differ from the NRA?

Well, we certainly aren’t Washington insiders who have been part of every major Federal gun control measure since the National Firearms Act of 1934, if that’s what you mean. More importantly, while we are very pro-gun, we are at our cores individual freedom zealots, for we know what Ayn Rand meant when she said:

The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.

12) How do you differ from the Oathkeepers?

As an organization, we aren’t a mildly-less-senile American Legion post holding a copsucker/copsuckee co-dependency square dance to raise money and sell swag. Our individual members don’t have a track record of turning and running away at the first hint of possible danger or controversy. We are a group of men and women who run towards the fight, not away.

13) How do you differ from smaller gun rights organizations?

We’re just as poor or poorer, so that’s one thing we have in common. We are broader in our interest areas than groups such as JPFO or GOA, but any individual, group, or business that supports the pursuit of rightful liberty is an ally and a potential friend.

14) There’s a lot of folks who claim to be for freedom and want my money – why should I join you guys?

There’s only one real question to answer:

Do you see the Society as a way that you can help the fight for rightful liberty in America?

If so, you should consider joining us in any way that you can do so. If not, that’s OK with us too.

15) Won’t I be endangering myself and my family by joining the Society?

You and your family are already in danger from the ravages of an out-of-control government that believes that you, your children, and all of your assets already belong to it. What remains to be seen is what you plan to do about it. Helping us restore rightful liberty is one constructive way to channel your outrage.

16) I’ve heard some bad things about some of the people in the Society – is it true?

On the internet, you never know what someone is going to say about you. The truth is that at least two of our members have criminal convictions. Both are productive, respectable members of society today – and that’s what counts for us. Do your own research, consider the sources of the information and their motives, and make up your own mind. Take nothing on faith.

17) What about violence?

As individuals, every single one of us has a God-given right of self-defense. Many in the modern world would infringe upon that natural right or ban it altogether. Such people are evil, and we stand in direct, open opposition to them. As an organization, the Society has the same policy as did the Minutemen at Lexington Green:

Don’t fire unless fired on.

That works for us, and we hope it works for you.

18) Can you tell us more about your future plans?

19) Do you expect trouble from government investigators?

You’re not suggesting that government agencies such as the IRS might harass individuals and groups based on their political beliefs, are you? That’s crazy talk right there… :-)

20) What about kids – can they join?

At present, the Society does not have a junior membership program planned. But kids are always welcome at any of our events, subject of course to the good judgment of their moms and dads.

          In a unanimous decision, the high court sided with Senate Republicans and limited the president's power to fill high-level vacancies with temporary appointments.
