Susan Collins of Maine, the ranking Republican on the Senate homeland security committee, said she found Ms. Napolitano’s comments “bizarre and inappropriate.” Nevertheless, she said, she has confidence in Ms. Napolitano and that she is working hard to keep the nation safe.
“There was no single piece of intelligence, a smoking gun, if you will, that said that Mr. Abdulmutallab was going to carry out his attack against that aircraft,” he said. “What we had, looking back at it now, were a number of streams of information.”
Oh yeah? How about his dad calling and telling anybody who would listen that his son is a terrorist. Hmmmmm?! Seems like a smoking gun to me. There's more.
