I agree that Woodman's hires nice people, Woodman's was nice to me on the phone, and I got the feeling that they do care. . . but they are basing there policy on erroneous information and unfounded fear.
My wife has told me she feels bad because they are so nice and she really does not want to hurt them. But she says it still doesn't make there policy right and she just wishes, they would change their policy.
It is not going to send their customers running and screaming out the door but it will make a difference because they choose to chase us out and they hold the belief that the majority of folks who are their customers, are scared of the guns too. Not true, we are not scared.
We are prepared. We are their customers as well. So are thousands of others just like us. We are willing to take on the responsibility of our own lives and protect ourselves and others. Maybe it would be OK if Woodman's provided an armed body guard for everyone who wanted one. Or maybe they could do a pat down at the door.
Your customers should be scared. They should be scared that you have left them defenseless and un-protected in a very dangerous world. This is a public access building that allows anyone, anyone at all, to enter without checking them for concealed weapons.

You say you have a ban and yet the only time you enforce it is when I am legally carrying. What about all the concealed weapons that enter your store? Don't be naive. Don't play the “Oh gosh, nobody does that.” card on me. Where is the armed guard at the door or the scanner etc. Your policy puts your customers at risk.
For every 15 people, there is one illegally carrying a concealed weapon. Did you know that Mr. Woodman? What are you going to do about those people. As matter of fact, It would be reasonable then; Mr Woodman, that if I were hurt by an assailant on your property, that I could sue you because you prevented me from being able to protect my wife and my self. Hmmmmmm.
There are a lot of people in this country that don't have a job, don't have money, and they are hungry. I have seen them wandering around your store looking at my food filled cart with disdain. I have also run across there empty wrappers and pop cans on your shelves. I think you have a problem and it is not us.
My wife said; "Just in the last year that I have shopped at Woodman's, there has been at least a handful of times that I've noticed someone; both young and old, eyeballing my purse in my cart ready to grab it. I am handicapped and use a motorized cart so I backed up and pulled my purse to me. One woman had her hand on my purse. Ready to go. This is not how things are supposed to be. "
"Because I am handicapped, I spend several hours in the store when I shop and I have noticed on many occasions, people just wondering the store without purchasing anything. Checking my cart out etc. Not waiting for a wife or husband, they are there alone. Just wandering your store waiting looking for an opportunity. And I tell ya, Mr. Woodman, I am not going to be anybodies opportunity. I am not going to shoot somebody because they steal my purse, I may run them down with my cart, yell at the top of my lungs and get my purse back but if someone were to try to knife me or shoot me in a store robbery, I will defend my self. But of course not in your store. Because you have disarmed the innocent and weak."

Why do you have a blind eye to the thugs and gang bangers and other less fortunates who are desperate and growing at an exponential rate. In these times, the innocent will suffer for your short sightedness. Maybe it is not shortsightedness, maybe you are just concerned about your bottom dollar and the safety of your customers comes in a distant second.
