Welcome to the United Soviet Socialist States of America
Boortz on the Democrat Socialist vision:Can you believe this is happening in our country? The government tells you that you’re going to have to pay a special tax on your health insurance plan…unless, that is, you happen to be a union member – or if you happen to work for city or state government. Then you won’t have to pay the tax.the country we’re living in bears about as much resemblance to America as the old Soviet Union did.
Which, for Democrat Socialists and their Marxist Messiah, is the whole idea.
While we're at it, Nelson of back door political payola fame is now requesting that he be able to back out of the deal he made. Seems folks back home in Nebraska think he ignored their wishes in voting for the health care fiasco. I'm just so shocked. . . . .
Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson and his wife were leaving dinner at a new pizza joint near their home in Omaha one night last week when a patron began complaining about Nelson’s decisive vote in favor of the Senate’s health care bill.
Other customers started booing. A woman yelled, “Get him the hell out of here!” And the Nelsons and their dining companions beat a hasty retreat.
“It was definitely a scene in there,” said Tom Lewis, a 41-year-old dentist and registered Republican who witnessed the incident. A second witness confirmed the incident to POLITICO.
I guess that backfired big time. . . . .

By KATHARINE Q. SEELYEPrompted by an angry Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, the attorneys general of that state and six others are looking at the Nelson deal, which they have dubbed the “Nebraska compromise,” The Associated Press reported Tuesday.Nelson Requests Removal of Nebraska Aid From Final Bill
By DAVID M. HERSZENHORNSenator Ben Nelson, Democrat of Nebraska, on Friday asked the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, to remove a special provision in the health care legislation that would have the federal government pay for all of Nebraska’s costs of a proposed expansion of Medicaid, the federal-state insurance program for low-income Americans. The provision, however, sparked a torrent of criticism and was derided by Republicans and others as the “Cornhusker kickback.” Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California, referencing Mr. Nelson in his State of the State address, said: “He got the corn, we got the husk.”
